Our After-School Programs

Because when School is Out, Clubs are In!

How to Join

1. Print and complete a membership application.

2. Contact the Club of your choice to check availability and make an appointment.

We provide after school enrichment throughout the academic year. Parents CANNOT enroll their children online. To enroll download our membership application above and visit our locations page to review your whether or not we offer services at a campus near you. Once you’ve selected a location email the program director of your site to verify that we have room and discuss potential enrollment.

Academic Success

The key to success starts with a solid education, and students do better in school when they spend non-school hours engaged in academically focused activities. Our programs provide Club members with the knowledge and skills they need to graduate from high school on time, equipped with the technical skills, tools, and resources to pursue their interests and prepare them for college, trade school, and employment.

Digital Literacy Essentials activities are designed to help youth ages 8-16 build digital skills. They provide members of all ability levels with a foundation to explore digital safety, digital privacy, digital presence, online communication and retro gaming.

Power Hour provides homework help, academic skill building, and collaborative learning activities to encourage self-directed learners.

The Computer Science Pathway, a key component of Boys & Girls Clubs’ Education & STEM programming, invites youth and teens on a journey from their first encounter with code to creative computing.

DIY STEM is a hands-on, activity-based STEM curriculum which connects youth to science themes they encounter regularly.

diplomas2Degrees (d2D), a college readiness program, provides a range of services to guide Club members as they work toward high school graduation and prepare for post-secondary education and career success.

Money Matters promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13 to 18. Participants learn how to manage a checking account, create a budget, save and invest, start small businesses and pay for college.

Healthy Lifestyles

These health and wellness programs encourage Club members to adopt healthy eating habits, practice good decision-making, develop healthy relationships, and make a lifelong commitment to physical fitness.

Healthy Habits emphasizes good nutrition, regular physical activity and improved overall well-being.

Passport to Manhood teaches responsibility to boys ages 11 to 14 with sessions that focus on a specific aspect of character and manhood through highly interactive activities.

SMART Girls provides health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement for girls ages 8 to 17.

SMART Moves is a prevention and education program addressing problems such as drug and alcohol use and premature sexual activity.

Kids MUST have time to just play. Foosball, board games, tag; these games are organically integrated into our programs every day!

The Arts

Chorus inspires young people to produce music, and to create their life’s soundtrack

DramaMatters Afterschool is a drama education program for Clubs that encourages members ages 6 to 18 to engage in hands-on activities. Drama education builds self-confidence, sparks creativity and boosts academic achievement.

The Fine Arts Program is a year-round program encourages artistic expression among Club members ages 6 to 18 through drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media and sculpture displayed at local and regional exhibits.

MusicMakers inspires young people to produce music, and to create their life’s soundtrack

The National Photography Program enables youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through the appreciation of photography.

Athletics

We believe that through youth athletics, valuable life skills are developed while kids make new friends and gain confidence in their ability to meet challenges. At all skill levels, our youth athletics programs foster teamwork, participation, fairness, and positive social skills in a fun, safe and supportive atmosphere.

At the Club we embrace the vital and energetic nature of dance! Members in these programs learn new routines and techniques and more importantly exercise ina fun and engaging way!

Triple Play is a comprehensive health and wellness program. It strives to improve the overall health of Club members ages 6-18 by increasing daily physical activity, teaching them about good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships.

You don’t often think of kids as needing to find peace, but we still think its important for youth to express their inner yogi!

Total body workout. This is the traditional workout program which blends high calorie-burning movement with exciting international and popular dance music.

Teens

Career Launch is designed to support youth as they prepare for their first job, internship, summer employment, and more.

Keystone is the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement’s ultimate teen program for youth ages 14 to 18. This unique program provides leadership development opportunities for youth to participate in activities, both in and out of the Club, in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service. With the guidance of an adult advisor, Keystone Clubs aim to positively impact teens, their Club and local communities.

Lyricism 101 is a program designed to cultivate and amplify the powerful, formidable voices of Club teens.

Youth of the Year is Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program. It is our signature effort to foster a new generation of leaders, fully prepared to live and lead in a diverse, global and integrated world economy.

Character and Leadership

We believe that developing America’s next generation of engaged citizens starts today. These programs focus on cultivating good character and leadership skills, and offer Club members the opportunity to give back to their community through service projects.

Studies show that young people who engage in service do better in school, maintain positive relationships with adults and avoid risky behaviors. The Million Members, Million Hours of Service initiative aims to engage 1 million Boys & Girls Club youth in service projects each year, with each donating at least one hour of service.

Torch Clubs are chartered, small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 11 to 13. A Torch Club is a powerful vehicle that helps Club staff meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their life.

Junior Staff focuses on career and soft-skill development​, apprenticeships, and community service through work-based learning as staff support for BGCSA.
