Before working at the Boys & Girls Club, I had known that I wanted to work with kids, but I was unsure of what direction I wanted to take. With all of the knowledge and experience that I have gained I want to study to become an elementary school counselor. The Boys & Girls Club has given me the opportunity to help youth whether it’s as simple as guiding them in the right direction to find the correct answer to a math problem or giving them a safe place to be able to express themselves. Being able to see the smiles on the kid’s faces and knowing that this program makes a positive impact on their lives makes working for the Boys & Girls Club rewarding and worth it.

Working with kids has always been my passion. While working for the Boys & Girls Club, I have been able to connect with members and help them grow. During this time of a global pandemic, the importance of this job has never been more clear. Helping our members become responsible and independent young people has always been rewarding; but to watch them learn and overcome under these extreme circumstances has been nothing short of amazing.

I enjoy the interactions and relationships you develop with the kids. I was a club kid when I was in elementary school. After I finished college I knew exactly where I wanted to work. Boys & Girls Clubs feels like my second home.

Working at Boys and Girls Club can be fast paced, wild, hectic, and crazy at times. But there is absolutely no other job that I would rather be doing. I am lucky enough to wake up every day excited to go to work. I love this job because I get to play and have fun, but also because I know I am making a difference in kids lives every day.
